JLG Usurps Larry King

BE DOPE NEWS (BDN) Be, Inc. CEO Jean-Louis Gassée was interviewed today during the Digital Jam program on CNNfn.

Although an interesting interview, things turned out to be a lot more interesting backstage. Shortly after the interview, Gassée ran into Larry King in the hallway. A passer-by commented on how much alike they looked. Gassée, sensing an opportunity for mischief, locked Larry King in a supply closet and proceeded to take his place on the set of "Larry King Live", after donning King's trademark suspenders and a passable American accent.

What ensued was a hilarious half-hour of confusion as "King" quizzed his guests about multi-threading applications, digital video and the finer points of the DOJ-Microsoft trial.

CNN officials were outraged until the number of callers and early ratings indicators showed the program was one of the highest-rated of all time. Rumor has it Gassée was asked if he could fill in for King on a regular basis. Gassée, while flattered, declined claiming that between being CEO of Be, Inc. and writing his soon-to-be published tell-all unauthorized autobiography he does not have a lot of free time. CNN producers relented after Gassée promised King his first interview once the book is published.
